Arkane Studios, the developer behind Dishonored, has reportedly attracted interest from several potential buyers, including Ubisoft, according to a Bloomberg report. At least two other gaming companies are also said to have made offers, while Xbox has considered the possibility of selling the studio to its own management. No agreement has been reached so far.
Microsoft has reportedly set a December deadline for deciding Arkane’s future. A company spokesperson confirmed that evaluations are underway but did not comment on the reported negotiations.
The studio’s possible sale would not necessarily affect Marvel’s Blade. According to the report, development of the game could continue under a new owner, with its release reportedly expected by the end of next year or the following year.
Who might acquire Arkane and how a change in ownership could shape the game’s development remain unclear.
