A new Dunkin’ promo for Avengers: Doomsday brings together Channing Tatum’s Gambit and HERBIE, the Fantastic Four’s robot assistant. The clip is a brand collaboration rather than a trailer for the film, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18.

Gambit, who joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool & Wolverine, snacks on Munchkin donut holes as HERBIE uses two of them to explain an Incursion: an event in which two realities collide, potentially destroying one or both. The promo links the concept to the multiversal conflicts explored in recent Marvel films, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The appearance also places Gambit at the Avengers’ base, despite earlier Doomsday footage showing him fighting at the X-Mansion. That detail leaves open questions about the film’s story; speculation that the Fox X-Men universe could be destroyed early in the movie remains unconfirmed, and Marvel’s promotional material can be misleading.

Avengers: Doomsday will bring together returning MCU characters such as Steve Rogers, newcomers including the Fantastic Four, and Fox-era characters such as Charles Xavier. It will be the first Avengers film in seven years.
