Barry Sloane wants to play Captain Price in the upcoming live-action Call of Duty movie. In an interview with Dan Allen Gaming, the actor said he believes he is exceptionally well suited to the role after portraying the character for nearly a decade.

“I don't think there's anyone else on the planet who is as qualified for the job as I am,” Sloane said, pointing to his experience with Price, the scale of the projects and his connection with the games’ fan base. He added that he would “absolutely” love to play the character in a movie, while acknowledging that casting decisions are ultimately up to Hollywood.

Sloane said he appreciates the support from fans who have called for him to reprise the role. He also noted that studios typically consider a group of candidates for a part, but said he believes he could be an asset to the production.

The film is being directed by Peter Berg and written by Taylor Sheridan. It is expected to be set in the Modern Warfare universe, although it is not yet clear whether it will tell a new story or adapt one of the games. The movie is scheduled for release in 2028.

If the film is part of the games’ canon, its place in the timeline could affect which characters appear. Modern Warfare 4 ends with Price left bleeding in the wilderness, while Ghost says goodbye to him. A canon film would therefore need to take place before that game, unless it focuses on new characters or survivors. Casting details have not been announced.
