Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that its next major role-playing game is titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The full logo appeared at the end of a new video celebrating 40 years of Bethesda Game Studios.

The game was announced in 2018 with a brief teaser that showed only the The Elder Scrolls VI logo. Speculation about the name had grown in recent months, alongside reports that the game may be set in Hammerfell. Asha Sharma had also previously pointed to Sentinel.

Bethesda did not provide a release estimate or confirm platforms with the announcement. The studio described Sentinel as the next chapter in the series, following The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which it called its most-played game.

The announcement also references Fallout 76 and Starfield as recent projects in the studio’s history. Bethesda has previously said that The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 are in development using Creation Engine 3, a new evolution of its technology.
