Bethesda has cautioned fans not to expect more details about The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel soon. In a social media post following the game’s official unveiling, the studio said development continues and that it will be “some time” before it is ready to share more.

The message thanked fans for 40 years of shared memories and said Bethesda was pleased to reveal the game’s name and location. The announcement identified the next entry as Sentinel, but the studio did not provide further information about the game or its release.

The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced eight years ago. Bethesda’s Todd Howard later said the project was in pre-production while Starfield was in full production. Starfield was the studio’s priority in the years before its 2023 release, Howard said.

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has said the game is more than two years from release, adding that he knows the timeframe it is targeting. Bethesda has not publicly confirmed a launch window.
