Cliff Richard has joined a roster of famous artists contributing music to Rockstar Games' highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, with his classic hit "Devil Woman" appearing in the Netflix Extended Look. Despite the song's inclusion, the 86-year-old singer was completely unaware of the partnership or the nature of the project until recently.
Speaking to The Times via Dexerto, Richard expressed surprise upon learning about the collaboration. He revealed that his nephew's sons were the ones who informed him of the news, joking that they did not realize he could still sing like that. When eventually made aware of GTA 6, Richard mistakenly assumed it was a television program rather than a video game, asking if it was one of the biggest game shows on TV.
Originally released in 1976, "Devil Woman" is now 50 years old. Richard stated he is enthusiastic about the prospect of younger audiences discovering his music through the title. He noted that while he acknowledges being from the past, that history is what shapes the present, and he hopes this exposure will change perceptions of his legacy.
Following the release of the Netflix Extended Look in August, Spotify streams for "Devil Woman" reportedly surged significantly. While the game's official score by Justice is scheduled for release on December 11 via streaming and physical media, GTA 6 itself will be a digital exclusive. Although sold at retailers, the game will not include a disc, offering only a code in a box. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with reports indicating a gargantuan file size.
