the Commonwealth Story Expansion Project (CSEP) has released a new quest mod for Fallout 4 titled Under The Stars. This latest addition follows the group's previous work from last month, which introduced an entirely new town to the RPG. The new mission centers on a dungeon delve located in the Glowing Sea, where harsh radioactive winds have recently unearthed a deep underground facility described as being full of secrets and horrors.
Players are tasked with donning a hazmat suit to explore this sunken bunker in the region of post-apocalyptic Boston known for its extreme weather. Inside the facility, users will encounter voiced holotapes and puzzles that provide clues regarding the events that transpired within this secluded corner of the Commonwealth. The mod also includes new gear designed to make the dangers lurking inside the bunker worth facing. Based on available screenshots, the location appears to be an Area 51-style hideout containing evidence of aliens and other cryptic oddities.
The CSEP team is well-known for creating popular quest mods involving deadly cults, underground wars, detective work, and Brotherhood of Steel drama. Although Under The Stars may not be as large a project as some of their previous titles, the group's track record suggests it is an expertly crafted addition that integrates seamlessly into the game. This mod was developed as part of Fallout Flood, a community-hosted modding jam focused on underground themes.
Other creations emerging from this event include Stranded - The Oasis, another quest mod; S'Laven, a dungeon populated by unique rats; and a new robot enemy that functions as a wearable hat. The gathering also produced a New Vegas quest mod centered on exploring an abandoned NCR railway. To play Under The Stars, players must own the Automatron and Vault-Tec Workshop DLCs for Fallout 4.
