Control Resonant’s launch has given Remedy Entertainment a sharp boost in quarterly revenue. The Finnish company’s financial report says pre-orders and sales during the game’s first seven days helped triple Q3 revenue compared with the same period a year earlier, an increase of 226% according to the report’s figures.

Sales of the game and related royalties accounted for around €35 million of the quarter’s total revenue, up from €6 million a year earlier. Remedy’s CEO described the release as a “fundamental milestone” for the company. The game also marks Remedy’s first move into the action-RPG genre.

Nearly half of Control Resonant’s players were new to the franchise, suggesting the game has brought a substantial number of newcomers to a series that began with the original Control in 2019. The United States was the leading market on both PC and consoles, accounting for almost half of total sales.

On PC, Chinese-speaking regions and the United Kingdom ranked second and third among markets. On consoles, the United Kingdom and Canada took those positions. Remedy also reported that Control Resonant remained on around 2.4 million wishlists, pointing to potential for further sales.
