Some Dead by Daylight players are protesting after a Behaviour Interactive employee gifted VTuber and streamer TheBurntPeanut all of the game’s available DLC during a Halloween livestream. Some fans, unhappy with what they saw as the studio supporting a controversial streamer, say they have uninstalled the game and requested refunds.

TheBurntPeanut received the paid expansions in his inbox during the stream. After viewers raised concerns, he offered to return them. The employee replied, “We can take the heat! They are yours to keep,” a response that further frustrated some fans.

Players also pointed to what they described as a disparity between the support given to TheBurntPeanut and the experiences of Dead by Daylight creators who have waited to be approved for the game’s Creator Program. The backlash prompted some longtime players to voice their disappointment and leave the game.

The official Dead by Daylight account said the employee’s decision had not received proper approval and that the employee’s comments and conduct did not reflect Behaviour Interactive’s values. The studio apologized to the community and said it would review its internal processes to help prevent similar incidents.

TheBurntPeanut addressed the controversy during a Minecraft stream and denied the accusations made against him.
