Electronic Arts has officially disclosed that its studio Respawn Entertainment is partnering with DICE to develop a new Star Wars game, though the publisher has not yet revealed the specific name of this project. Unofficial sources suggest this collaboration refers to a third installment of the Battlefront series, raising questions about the current status of other Star Wars initiatives within the company.

Jason Schreier, a well-known industry insider, recently provided details regarding EA's internal shifts. He reported that BioWare was shut down as part of cost-cutting measures, with resources redirected to create a new Star Wars Battlefront game in partnership with Disney. Despite these changes, Schreier clarified on BlueSky that this is not the only Star Wars project currently active at EA.

According to Schreier, Star Wars Jedi 3 is alive and well advanced in its production phase. He noted that while Battlefront 3 has not yet entered production, Respawn's work on the third Jedi game is far enough along to allow the studio to complete it before shifting focus to the upcoming Battlefront title.

The last entry in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was released in April 2023. Although a sequel has not been officially announced since then, actor Cameron Monaghan, who voices Cal Kestis, confirmed in 2023 that a third game was in development. This was later supported by EA's official statement in 2024, which acknowledged that Respawn is working to conclude the Star Wars Jedi trilogy.
