God of War Laufey will now launch on May 20, 2027, instead of its previously scheduled date of February 16. Sony Santa Monica announced the delay on November 4, saying the studio needs more time to make a game that lives up to fan expectations.
The studio also said it plans to share more details about the game soon. It has not specified when that update will arrive.
The delay follows the announcement of a collector’s box designed to coincide with the February release. Sony Santa Monica has not said whether the merchandise box will also be postponed; it does not include the game.
