God of War Laufey will now launch on May 20, 2027, for PlayStation 5. Santa Monica Studio announced the delay, saying it needs additional time to complete the game’s final adjustments.
The studio pointed to the scale of its ambitions for the game and said the extra time should help it bring God of War Laufey closer to its full potential. It did not specify which areas of the game will receive further work.
The PS5 exclusive stars Faye, Kratos’ partner and Atreus’ mother in the franchise’s Norse saga. The game is also listed for PS5 Pro, with the same May 20, 2027 release date.
