God of War Laufey will now launch on May 20, 2027, around three months later than its original release date of February 16. Santa Monica Studio announced the delay for the upcoming PS5 game.
The developer said the extra time would be used to complete the finishing touches and push the game toward its full potential. The studio also thanked players for their patience and said it would share more updates soon.
The game stars Deborah Ann Woll as Faye, alongside Jack Quaid as Phranque, a gelatinous cube. Faye is described as more graceful and nimble than Kratos. Like the previous games, Laufey is a third-person action experience focused on combining skills and weapons in combat.
