GTA 6 has generated an estimated $751 million in preorders across PlayStation 5 and Xbox, according to data compiled by analytics firm Sensor Tower. The estimate covers 7.71 million copies sold as of November 3, two weeks before the game’s scheduled release.
Preorders are weighted toward PlayStation, which accounts for 74% of the estimated sales, compared with 26% on Xbox. Sensor Tower’s figures translate to roughly $559 million in PlayStation revenue and $192 million on Xbox.
The high total may reflect players choosing the game’s more expensive editions. The Standard Edition is priced at $80, while the Ultimate Edition costs $100. In an August interview with CNBC, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick suggested that early preorders are especially likely to come from the most enthusiastic customers.
GTA 6 is due out on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For comparison, GTA 5 made $800 million in its first 24 hours and reached $1 billion in three days, according to the source report.
