Hoyoverse, the studio renowned for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, has confirmed that its new cozy simulation game, Petit Planet, will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. While the free-to-play title is scheduled to launch first on PC, iOS, and Android on December 4, 2026, the announcement ensures that fans of the genre will have access to the game on the upcoming handheld console.

The news was shared during a special update from Hoyoverse, which provided deeper insights into the game's mechanics set in Starsea. Players will begin by managing their own planet before exploring floating islands or visiting the Galactic Bazaar, a hub featuring community interactions and in-game auctions. The update also highlighted various home decor options, mini-games, and the diverse neighbors players can encounter throughout their journey.

Originally announced in September 2025, Petit Planet has been described by IGN as a blend of Animal Crossing and The Little Prince. Following a five-hour preview of the closed beta, the publication noted that the game offers a charming take on life simulation with a strong emphasis on clear progression and multiplayer features. This approach aims to address elements some players felt were missing in previous titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In addition to the platform announcement, Hoyoverse revealed opportunities for pre-registration prizes and launched a "Launch a Planet" event on the game's official website starting today.
