Blackpink’s Jisoo has confirmed that one of her looks in the music video for her solo song “Addicted” was inspired by Ada Wong from Resident Evil. The video debuted over Halloween weekend and features Jisoo in several different outfits.
At the start of the video, Jisoo wears a short black bob and a fitted red dress, a combination that fans associated with Ada Wong. After a fan asked on Jisoo’s app whether the resemblance was intentional, the singer replied that she loves Biohazard, the Japanese title for Resident Evil, and wanted to recreate the look.
Jisoo has previously talked about her enthusiasm for the series. On Hot Ones earlier this year, she said the games’ fast pace and sudden surprises keep her focused and make time pass quickly.
The similarity also drew attention because fans had recently made comparable comments about Babymonster’s Asa, who posted photos in a black bob and red dress in August. Asa has not responded to those comparisons.
