Almost two minutes of footage from what appears to be a remake of the original Persona has leaked online. The clip was shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit and uploaded to the file-sharing site Gofile on October 31 under a Japanese filename translating to "Megami Ibunroku Persona Remake." The video seemingly assigns the subtitle "Be Your True Mind" to the project.
Visually, the footage aligns closely with Atlus' recent entries. It displays stylish menus and combat sequences that resemble those found in Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload. Additionally, a brief social link cutscene is shown utilizing a distinct art style reminiscent of a graphic novel.
Fans analyzing the clip have identified several details they believe lend credibility to the leak. These include what appears to be Unreal Engine debug text visible in the top left corner during battle, consistent with Atlus' engine switch for Persona 3 Reload. The video also features a new remix of the original PlayStation game's Pandora theme and refers to the protagonist as "Boy With Earring," a name used for the character in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
Atlus has not officially announced a remake of Persona 1, and the authenticity of the footage remains unverified. Consequently, these reports should be treated with caution until further confirmation is provided.
