Maika Monroe says she would be open to returning to the world of The Guest. In an interview with Polygon about her upcoming film Victorian Psycho, she spoke warmly about director Adam Wingard and said she would love to work with him again, while adding that it remains to be seen whether that happens.

“I love Adam so much,” Monroe said. She added that the two had recently met for coffee and described him as “awesome.”

Monroe starred as Anna in Wingard’s 2014 thriller, written by Simon Barrett. The film follows David, played by Dan Stevens, an army veteran who arrives at the home of a family grieving the loss of their son. As David becomes part of the household, Anna grows suspicious of him amid a series of violent events.

The possibility of a return comes as Wingard and Barrett have expanded the same fictional continuity with Onslaught. The film, released earlier this year, stars Adria Arjona as an army veteran defending her community from escaped military experiments. Stevens also appears, playing scientist Hans Kammler rather than David.

Wingard has said Onslaught takes place near the town featured in The Guest, linking the films within what he and Barrett call the “KPG-verse.” He has also suggested that Kammler could be connected in some way to the origins of David, with the possibility of exploring that idea in future installments.

Stevens has said the filmmakers are open to making more stories in the shared universe, though he does not know whether a direct sequel to The Guest is planned. Monroe’s comments likewise express interest in working with Wingard again, but do not confirm that she will return to the franchise.
