Former Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell has lost his bid to represent Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. Incumbent Democrat Susie Lee won 59.1% of the vote, compared with 38.6% for O’Donnell, according to the results reported in the source. Lee received 146,863 votes and O’Donnell 95,845.

O’Donnell, a Republican best known for composing music for the original Halo games and Destiny, ran with Donald Trump’s endorsement. In a post viewed 1.8 million times, Trump described him as an “America First Patriot” and urged voters to support him.

After her victory, Lee tagged O’Donnell in a post reading “Enjoy your retirement.” It included a video of Halo fans performing the game’s well-known monk chant, overlaid with a 2024 post from O’Donnell saying he had never wanted to be a politician. O’Donnell replied: “Susie has a lot of class. And it’s all low.”

This was O’Donnell’s second defeat in a bid for the same congressional seat in two years. After leaving video game development, he pursued a political career and also worked on projects through his studio, Highwire Games. His political future is now uncertain.
