Mason Thames will voice Dick Grayson in Dynamic Duo, an upcoming animated film from DC Studios about Robins Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Co-CEO Peter Safran confirmed the casting in an interview with Collider. Thames is known for starring in How to Train Your Dragon.
Safran said Thames had long wanted to play Grayson and praised his audition. Grayson is the first Boy Wonder and later becomes the hero Nightwing.
Scheduled for release on September 22, 2028, Dynamic Duo is being directed by Arthur Mintz. The film will combine miniatures, puppetry, animatronics and CGI. Other reported cast members include Logan Kim as Jason Todd, Marsai Martin as Barbara Gordon, Lee Pace as Red Hood 1 and Steve Buscemi as Red Hood 2.
DC Studios co-head James Gunn has said the film will not be part of the DC Universe, placing it outside that continuity.
