Mike Flanagan has offered little new information about the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 project, saying he is bound to secrecy and cannot reveal what he and Henry Cavill are working on. In an interview with Deadline, Flanagan joked that Cavill would be furious if he disclosed any details.
Flanagan described Warhammer as a fascinating world, while pointing to the challenge of finding an entry point into its extensive lore. He noted that the setting spans around 700 novels, alongside the tabletop game, interactive projects and other material.
The project from Games Workshop and Cavill has been in development for two years. Flanagan, known for work including The Haunting of Hill House and the Carrie miniseries, joined the team as a writer. Details about the project remain scarce.
During his recent Carrie press tour, Flanagan said discovering the Warhammer universe had been an unexpected and enjoyable introduction. He added that he was sworn to secrecy but was having the time of his life working on it.
