Nagoshi Studio, the developer founded by Like a Dragon creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, has been dissolved by a shareholders’ resolution. The closure also ends work on Gang of Dragon, the studio’s first game, which was announced at last year’s Game Awards.

The announcement trailer showcased realistic visuals, combat and exploration in Kabukicho, alongside gunplay, car chases and actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee. The game’s presentation drew comparisons to the Like a Dragon series, with the trailer featuring imagery associated with the franchise.

Reports in March said NetEase, which funded the studio, planned to withdraw its support in May as costs rose to around seven billion yen. Nagoshi Studio was unable to secure alternative funding before the closure. The studio had been established four years earlier, and Gang of Dragon had been announced less than a year before its cancellation.
