Netflix’s live-Action Assassin’s Creed series has completed filming and is entering post-production, according to Matt’s Inside Line. The production was shot in Italy and Bulgaria. No release date has been announced.

The series was first announced in 2020, but development began in 2025, when David Wiener and Roberto Patino joined the project. Its story is set in 64 AD in Rome under Emperor Nero, rather than in the era of Ezio Auditore. Netflix has described the plot as a secret conflict between two “shadowy factions” unfolding against pivotal historical events; further story details have not been disclosed.

The cast includes Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Nabhaan Rizwan and Claes Bang. The franchise previously received a live-action film adaptation in 2016, starring Michael Fassbender as Cal Lynch.
