Nintendo used its Pikmin Day Direct to announce several updates across the Pikmin series. The presentation was part of the celebrations surrounding November 1, which the company designates as Pikmin Day in tribute to the original red, blue and yellow Pikmin.
The broadcast offered a closer look at Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, which will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12. Its new Dandori Academy mode is designed to help players improve their planning and treasure-gathering skills through time-limited challenges and weekend exams that award in-game medals.
A free demo is now available through the Nintendo eShop. It includes the Sun-Speckled Terrace area from the main story and two Dandori Academy levels.
Pikmin Bloom is also set to receive a winter update featuring a new adventure. Players will explore caves, confront creatures and collect treasures. The mobile application will also connect with Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, allowing users to take in-game exams and earn special rewards in Pikmin Bloom, including a cave map.
The presentation concluded with the announcement of Hello! Pikmin, a new series of short films produced by Nintendo Pictures. Its first two episodes are now available through the Nintendo Today! mobile application and other Nintendo channels.
