Odisea Indie – Game Fest will return to ExpoCoruña in A Coruña on November 21 and 22, alongside ExpOtaku. According to the organisers, the event will bring together 50 independent studios and developers, including teams from Galicia, participants from across Spain and two French studios.
Visitors will be able to try games at different stages of development and speak directly with their creators. The participating projects will include productions from established studios, solo developers and student teams, giving developers an opportunity to collect feedback from players.
The event will be preceded by an online showcase on November 16, offering an early look at the games taking part. The full list of teams is available on the official Odisea Indie website.
Alongside the demos, exhibitors will organise activities connected to their games. The announced programme includes competitions based on Soulless: The Forgotten Realm, Myxtheron Duel and BoBot, as well as an ANKH contest, the arcade included in the Little Darkness demo. Keep Crafting will also feature a cooperative challenge for teams of four players.
Some activities will move beyond the screen. Black Hat will invite attendees to make puppets and scenery, GalanTarp will propose creating bead figures inspired by CrownWalk, and Velaria Studio will organise a collective musical composition related to Echoes of Lyra.
Attendees will receive a physical or digital passport to record the games they play. After trying at least five titles, they can vote for their five favourites by awarding 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points. Digital passport users will be able to register each game by scanning a QR code provided by the relevant studio, without registering in advance.
The votes will determine the public’s favourite game and will also give attendees the chance to enter daily prize draws. On Sunday, November 22, at 4:00 p.m., the main stage will host awards for the public’s favourite game, best student game and best stand, with the latter judged on presentation, visual identity and decoration.
The student-game award will be decided by a professional jury comprising Elven, creator of Aureole, Víctor Fernández, known as VictorDevelops, and Alex Fariña. The edition is supported by Videoxogo.gal, ADEVI and ACADEVI, as well as companies including Tesura Games, JanduSoft, Devilish Games, Flynn’s Arcades, RawrLab Games and GameIt. Ticket information is available on the ExpOtaku A Coruña website.
