Disney has released a new trailer for season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, offering a closer look at the next stage of the Rick Riordan adaptation. The season will cover the events of the 2007 novel The Titan’s Curse and appears to take the series in a darker direction.
The story follows Percy on a mission to save Annabeth, bringing him into conflict with the titan Atlus. The new adventure will also introduce Thalia Grace, the daughter of Zeus, and the di Angelo twins. The trailer features recognizable elements from the book, including the Hoover Dam, while also suggesting changes to the way characters such as Annabeth and Nico are portrayed in the television series.
Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri return as Percy, Annabeth and Grover. The season’s new cast includes Dafne Keen as Artemis, Ming-Na Wen as Hera and Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite. Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulo play Bianca and Nico di Angelo, who receive considerable attention in the preview. Rachel Elizabeth Dare does not appear in the trailer, leaving her casting unconfirmed in the available footage.
Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on November 20. The new chapter also moves the show closer to the end of the five-book storyline, although Disney has not officially renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a fourth season.
The lack of a fourth-season announcement comes despite Disney’s continued investment in Riordan’s work, including its order for an adaptation of The Kane Chronicles. For now, the future of the Percy Jackson series beyond the upcoming season remains undecided.
