Phantom Blade Zero is evolving just days after its debut, with developer S-Game rolling out the game's first post-launch update. Following a strong start that saw over four million copies sold at launch, this free patch aims to address key issues identified by early adopters of the ambitious Chinese action-adventure title.
The update began deployment on Wednesday, November 4, for PC and PlayStation 5. It introduces a series of corrections and adjustments based on feedback from players tackling the game's challenges. One of the most notable changes involves the difficulty of Hua, an optional boss in the game's first area. To better align with the challenge level of other bosses and the hero's capabilities during the early hours of the adventure, Hua's attacks and grabs have been slightly weakened.
However, this adjustment to Hua applies exclusively to the Easy and Normal difficulty settings. The boss remains unchanged for players on Hard mode or the 66 Days difficulty. Beyond combat balance, the update adds new audio settings that allow users to independently regulate the intensity of sound effects produced by strikes and impacts.
S-Game has also implemented generalized optimizations designed to improve performance during map exploration and intense combat sequences. These improvements are applicable across PC, PlayStation 5, and PS5 Pro. Additionally, the development team utilized community suggestions to enhance the feedback provided by weapons during gameplay.
