S-Game has released the first update for Phantom Blade Zero. The 3.7GB patch is available on Steam, while the PlayStation 5 version is expected to receive the update soon. The game has sold four million units, according to the supplied information.

The update adds two sound settings: Hit SFX Intensity and Hit Impact SFX Intensity. These options are intended to make it clearer when players take damage or block an attack. Players can also reassign the Interact button on both controller and keyboard.

On PC, the game now starts faster thanks to quicker shader compilation. The patch also adjusts Hua, Deadly Betrothed: the boss uses fewer grab attacks on the Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. The higher difficulty modes are unchanged.

PC players can also install the fan-made Ultra+ mod, which improves graphics and addresses some visual issues. Its features include ray-traced ambient occlusion, 4K textures, and increased detail at a distance.
