Phantom Blade Zero has sold 4 million copies within 72 hours of release, according to developer S-Game. The studio shared the milestone through the game’s official X account, thanking players for their support.

The wuxia-themed action game also made an immediate impact on Steam. It topped the platform’s charts at launch, ranking ahead of major titles including PUBG and Dota 2. It was additionally listed as Steam’s highest-grossing game, ahead of Modern Warfare 4, Aion 2 and Probably Stolen. Its concurrent player count peaked at 833,921 on Sunday.

The result follows estimated pre-launch sales of more than 1 million copies across Steam, PlayStation 5 and Tencent’s WeGame PC storefront in China. Nearly two-thirds of those early sales came from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Phantom Blade Zero also received a 9/10 review from IGN, which praised its combat, boss encounters and presentation. Despite its rapid commercial success, the game has not matched Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million copies during its first three days.

The cast includes Roger Craig Smith as the lead character and Maggie Robertson as Mu Xiaokui. Donnie Yen acted as a key creative consultant and provides the facial, voice and motion-capture performance for Mó Yuan, Soul’s father.
