Sony has released firmware version 14.02 for PlayStation-4/">PlayStation 4. According to the update’s official description, it includes security fixes; no new features are listed.

The release follows a recent PS5 system update that also focused on security. The report says Sony’s fixes may help address exploits affecting online play, including in games with cross-platform play.

PS4 launched in 2013, and its recent firmware updates have not added major features. Version 11.00, for example, introduced password-free sign-in through the PlayStation App.
