Sony has released firmware 14.02 for PlayStation 4, an unexpected update that is now available to download. The company’s brief official description says it includes security fixes for the system.

The previous version was 14.0. According to the report, hackers used exploits in that firmware to bypass console protections and cheat in GTA Online. The new update is intended to address those issues.

PlayStation 5 has also received several updates in recent weeks for the same reason, the report says. It adds that pirates used artificial intelligence tools to run emulators on the console. Sony is reportedly seeking to strengthen security ahead of the upcoming release of GTA 6, with players expected to need the latest PS5 firmware to play the game.
