Soulframe’s Preludes, the fantasy action MMORPG’s equivalent of a beta, will open to all players on November 6. From that date, anyone can download the game and begin playing without an invitation, ahead of the Verse of the Veillands update.

The launch arrives during a busy period for MMO fans, just two days after World of Warcraft: Forever and in the same week as Old School RuneScape’s Hardcore worlds. Soulframe has spent three years in closed testing, with access gradually expanded through occasional invitation events. During that time, the game has received updates adding quests, Pacts, factions and other content.

The Verse of the Veillands update will significantly change how map progression works. After completing an early quest, players will enter the corrupted Veillands and begin purifying the region. This process will unlock new resources and activities, including fishing, while also allowing players to train a small wolf into a mount.

Previously, Soulframe placed players directly into its open world with limited guidance. The new progression system is intended to provide a clearer introduction, although the Veillands feature will continue to receive updates after its release.

The update will also add the Ode Shrike Pact, a trap-focused class equipped with spikes, balloon snares, bombs and chains for disrupting enemies.

Soulframe is Digital Extremals newest project, while the studio continues expanding Warframe. That sci-fi MMO is scheduled to reach the Tau system in December with a detective noir-inspired main quest, a playable Warframe and an in-universe poker-style game.
