Stellar Blade Complete Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, bringing Shift Up’s sword-focused Action game to Nintendo’s latest console. The port preserves the combat that made the original engaging, with fast combos, timed parries and dodge-based counterattacks, although its visuals are less consistent in handheld mode.
The game follows Eve, a soldier fighting monsters known as Naytibas in an effort to save humanity. Players gradually unlock new combos and weapon skills, while defensive moves such as perfect parries and blink-dodges create opportunities for powerful follow-up attacks. Enemies and bosses can be challenging, particularly on the middle difficulty setting.
In handheld mode, the game remains visually appealing overall, but character hair is a noticeable weak point. Eve’s long ponytail is barely rendered during gameplay, and hair looks especially rough in cutscenes. Enemies, environments and other scene details fare better. The review also reports around three hours of battery life on default settings with near-maximum brightness.
Docking the Switch 2 improves the hair rendering and brings the overall presentation closer to the PlayStation 5 and PC versions. Some distant scenery and enemies still show visual glitches, but the game runs smoothly, including during an intense boss fight, with no notable frame-rate drops reported.
The Switch 2 edition also adds Bayonetta-inspired outfits. Despite the port’s graphical shortcomings, its responsive combat remains the central draw.
