PC Gamer’s poll to name the greatest first-person shooter mode has reached the semifinals, with Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Payload and Capture the Flag advancing from the second round. More than 2,500 votes were cast across the matchups.
Team Deathmatch defeated Battle Royale with 82% of the vote, while Conquest beat Bomb Defusal with 63%. Payload claimed 77% against Infection, and Capture the Flag advanced over Attack & Defend with 71%.
The semifinal pairings put Team Deathmatch against Conquest, contrasting close-quarters team action with large-scale territory control. Payload will meet Capture the Flag in a matchup between two modes built around moving an objective while the opposing team tries to stop it.
Voting for the semifinals closes on Sunday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. PC Gamer says it plans to publish the results the following week and begin the final round.
