Bethesda has unveiled the subtitle for The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel in a short teaser shown at the end of a video marking Bethesda Game Studios’ 40th anniversary. The reveal included an Elder Scroll partly buried in sand and a title card for the upcoming game.

The teaser also displayed a quote attributed to Yazar, described as a Moth Priest serving High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell: “The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.”

Bethesda did not explicitly name the game’s setting in the teaser. However, the subtitle Sentinel, the desert imagery and the reference to a priest serving Hammerfell’s queen strongly support a recent report by The Verge that the game will take place in the province. Sentinel is also the name of a kingdom and city in Hammerfell.

The Elder Scroll and Yazar’s cryptic words may point to a story involving the secrets behind the scrolls, though the teaser does not confirm the plot. The brief reveal offers a new visual for the game, which was previously represented by the hills shown in its 2018 teaser.
