Tides of Annihilation is an upcoming Action game that combines character-action combat and Soulslike elements with exploration reminiscent of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök. A preview played at Gamescom 2026 offered about 45 minutes with the game, set in a devastated version of modern-day London inspired by Arthurian legend.

The story follows Gwendolyn, who appears to be the sole survivor able to resist a mysterious force known as the Fog. Its destruction has left the city tangled with enormous roots, red crystals and Gothic-style creatures, and Gwendolyn sets out to find a way to reverse the damage.

Combat features light and heavy attacks, combos, jumps, dodges and parries. Enemy attacks use visual cues to indicate the appropriate defense, while stagger bars let players stun foes and set up finishing moves. A central feature is Gwendolyn’s roster of knight companions, inspired by the Knights of the Round Table. They can change her fighting style, with options that emphasize defense or staggering enemies. The full game is expected to include up to ten knights; two were available in the preview.

The knights also help Gwendolyn explore. In the museum area featured in the demo, Bors could fire arrows to create ziplines, while Palamedes could break weakened walls and move bookshelves to form routes between balconies. The preview also included a red explosive sphere used to destroy crystal barriers, a mechanic compared to the Shatter Crystals in God of War Ragnarök.

Tides of Annihilation follows the recent success of action games such as Black Myth: Wukong and Phantom Blade Zero. It is planned for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, but no release year was given in the preview.
