Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are returning to collaborate with director David Fincher on the score for his new film, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. This partnership represents the sixth time the award-winning musical duo has provided music for a Fincher-directed project. Their involvement was officially revealed when Netflix shared the film's poster on social media, where the composers are credited in the fine print.
The pair has a history of successful work with Fincher, having composed soundtracks for The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Mank. Reznor received an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Social Network in 2011. More recently, they won a Golden Globe for their score on Challengers in 2025 and earned a Grammy nomination earlier this year for a track from the Tron: Ares soundtrack, credited under Nine Inch Nails.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth serves as a sequel to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. While written by Tarantino and starring Brad Pitt reprising his role as the stuntman, the film is directed by Fincher. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Fincher noted that Tarantino's original draft was essentially two movies, requiring him to cut 60 pages from the screenplay to achieve a runtime of approximately two hours and 20 minutes.
The film is scheduled for a global IMAX release on November 25, followed by its launch on Netflix on December 23. The cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller alongside Pitt. Additionally, Tarantino will release a novelization of the film on December 8, acting as a literary follow-up to his 2021 book based on the original movie.
