Microsoft has unveiled the X-Bite, a playable Xbox Series X built into a five-foot alligator replica. The one-of-a-kind console is available through a sweepstakes, and its design appears to hint at Grand Theft Auto 6 without naming the game directly.
Microsoft’s announcement describes Florida as the inspiration for the promotion, while Xbox marketing chief Josh Munsee said the console has “pure Miami vibes.” GTA 6 is set in Vice City, a fictional stand-in for Miami. The company also says the winner can use the system to play “some of the biggest games of the year.”
The console sits inside the alligator, with its Xbox Nexus/Guide button visible through the creature’s skin. The prize also includes a custom controller marked with simulated bite damage. Microsoft says the alligator is a custom fabrication, not a real animal, and estimates the prize’s value at $800.
The X-Bite was designed by John Nolan Studio, a creature-effects specialist whose work includes The Witcher and Jurassic World Dominion. To enter, participants must follow Xbox on X, Instagram, or TikTok, repost the sweepstakes post with #XbiteSweepstakes, and have a public account. The contest runs through November 10; the winner will be selected at random and must respond within 48 hours.
Microsoft’s campaign comes as Sony holds the marketing rights for GTA 6. The game is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
