Helen Chiang left her role as Xbox COO after just three months. In a post titled “Clarity is Kindness,” she rejected rumors about the circumstances of her departure, saying she was not fired for violating company policies, had not shared confidential information with the press, was not moving to another company, and had not been involved in fraud or harassment.

Chiang also said she had not requested her promotion in July and raised concerns about what she described as a lack of fairness, accountability, and consistency in the way her departure was handled.

Shannon Loftis, a former producer with 29 years at Xbox, responded in the comments in support of Chiang. Loftis criticized the spread of false information and said the company’s current leadership had lost its moral character, comparing its management to a “circus.”

The article says Xbox has faced cancellations, studio closures, and widespread layoffs under Asha Sharma, who replaced Phil Spencer. It also notes that the company confirmed Gears of War: E-Day would be exclusive just weeks before its launch, and that further layoffs are rumored.
