Bend Studio is reportedly preparing a new third-person action game with cooperative mechanics for release in 2027. The project would mark a fresh direction for the PlayStation developer, with no direct connection to Days Gone and no live-service format, according to a report cited by MP1st.

The report’s sources are anonymous, and the game has not been officially announced. Sony and Bend Studio are said to be aiming to reveal it ahead of its planned 2027 release, but details about its setting and gameplay remain scarce.

Bend’s previous project, a multiplayer game codenamed Mirror Pond, was cancelled by Sony in January 2025. The project had been announced as a new franchise in 2022 and was intended to build on systems from Days Gone. After the cancellation, Bend Studio laid off about 30% of its staff in June 2025, according to the report.

The studio released Days Gone in 2019, but a sequel was not commissioned by Sony. Its next game could reportedly reuse some of the technology and gameplay developed for Mirror Pond. It is not known whether the project will introduce a new setting or revive one of Bend’s older franchises, such as Syphon Filter.
