Jisoo of BLACKPINK has confirmed that her look in the music video for her new song “Addicted” was a tribute to Ada Wong from Resident Evil 4. The red dress and shorter hairstyle prompted fans to ask whether the character had inspired her style.
The singer confirmed the reference, saying she loves Biohazard—the Japanese title for the Resident Evil series—and wanted to copy Ada. The look is therefore both an homage to the character and a reflection of Jisoo’s interest in Capcom’s games.
The Ada-inspired appearance drew attention around the same time Jisoo shared a cosplay of Lucy from the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which also received a strong response. She has previously been associated with Pokémon advertising campaigns because of her interest in the games.
