Netflix has set January 19, 2027, as the premiere date for Blue Eye Samurai season 2. The new season will consist of six episodes, compared with eight in the first season. Netflix has also said the series is planned to conclude in 2028.
The story will pick up after season 1, when Mizu and Abijah Fowler set sail for London. Fowler had revealed that two men who might be Mizu’s father were there, giving her a new destination in her pursuit of revenge.
Series co-creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green described 1657 London as a setting shaped by illicit activity and strict social rules. They said Mizu will encounter a society that persecuted women as witches, shut bars and theaters, and banned Christmas.
Maya Erskine is returning as the voice of Mizu, alongside Brenda Song as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen, and Masi Oka as Ringo. New cast members include Sherry Cola as Kuma, Joel Kim Booster as Priest Ando, and Jonathan Pryce as Old Violet.
