Former Halo composer Marty O'Donnell has lost his bid for Nevada's third congressional district. Democrat Susie Lee, who has held the seat since 2019, was re-elected and later posted a pointed farewell to her opponent, concluding: “The fight is finished.”

O'Donnell entered politics in 2024, saying he had never wanted to be a politician but felt compelled to run because of what he described as the deterioration of the United States. He finished fourth in that year's Republican primary for the district.

He ran again in 2026, won the Republican primary and received the support of President Donald Trump. O'Donnell had previously called Trump an “idiot.” His campaign warned about open borders, Marxism and the “woke left,” and accused Lee of corruption.

Lee largely avoided engaging with O'Donnell's campaign rhetoric, according to the report. After his defeat, she posted the message that prompted further exchanges in the comments; O'Donnell did not take it well.
