Despite some criticism from fans, Grand Theft Auto 6 represents a massive step forward compared to GTA V in both technical execution and gameplay mechanics. The upcoming title introduces at least three distinct possibilities that were entirely absent in the previous chapter, fundamentally altering how players interact with the world of Leonida.

One major addition involves the vehicle dynamics, where the entire theft system has been revolutionized to include realistic fueling and battery charging for electric cars. Among these updates is a new category of vehicles never before seen in the series: electric scooters. Rockstar has confirmed that while non-player characters were shown using them in trailers, protagonists Jason and Lucia will also be able to ride these scooters to navigate the streets.

The second significant novelty returns a mechanic last seen in San Andreas, allowing players to modify the physical form of the protagonists through various activities. Although Rockstar Games has not yet detailed exactly how specific actions will influence the appearance of Jason and Lucia, it is confirmed that characters can gain weight, lose weight, or build muscle, with these changes impacting gameplay.

Finally, the game features a heightened focus on atmospheric effects, including dynamic weather events like storms and hurricanes. Unlike other open-world titles where such events affect the entire map, GTA 6 will feature localized phenomena visible from a distance that impact only specific regions. This system allows players to spot a hurricane in the distance and choose to head toward it, though doing so may result in disastrous consequences.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PS5 Pro. Developed by Rockstar Games and published by Take-Two Interactive, the action title continues to generate anticipation ahead of its launch.
