Grand Theft Auto VI has reportedly reached 7.71 million pre-orders worldwide, generating an estimated $751 million, according to figures from analytics firm Sensor Tower cited by Insider Gaming. The estimates have not been confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
PlayStation 5 accounts for 74% of pre-orders, with 5.74 million copies and an estimated $559 million in revenue. Xbox Series X|S represents the remaining 26%, or 1.97 million copies and $192 million.
The latest estimate marks an increase from Sensor Tower’s figures two weeks earlier, when the game was said to have 6.45 million pre-orders and $630 million in revenue. The new numbers suggest that nearly 1.3 million additional copies were reserved during that period.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital pre-orders may continue to grow ahead of the release, with preloading scheduled to begin on November 10. Newzoo has also outlined a scenario in which the game could generate up to $5.2 billion in its first week, though that remains a forecast.
