Ganondorf’s Castle is the final dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The route to the central tower is blocked by six barriers, each tied to an element and a puzzle that draws on skills and items used in earlier dungeons.

The walkthrough recommends starting with the Shadow room. There, Link can find the Golden Gauntlets, which let him lift the large black-and-gold rocks blocking access to the Fire and Light rooms. The guide also points out a hidden Fairy Fountain beneath the bridge to the central tower, accessible with the Lens of Truth. After obtaining the gauntlets, Link can use one of the rocks outside the castle to reveal another Great Fairy Fountain, where offering 500 rupees grants the Gift of Halved Damage.

The remaining barriers can be tackled in any order. The Forest, Fire, Light and Spirit rooms each require collecting five crystals, while the Water room focuses on blue fire and movable ice blocks. In each section, Link must also find a dark-energy bulb and strike it with a Light Arrow to break the barrier. The rooms feature hazards such as moving platforms, invisible enemies, rolling boulders and traps, with items including the Hover Boots, Lens of Truth, Megaton Hammer and Bombchus needed along the way.

Once all six barriers are down, Link can enter the central tower. The route to the boss key includes battles against pairs of Dinolfos, Stalfos and Iron Knuckles. The guide advises dodging their attacks and striking during openings; defeating both Iron Knuckles reveals the key.

Ganondorf’s fight begins with a sequence of magic orbs. Link must return each orb with his sword until Ganondorf is struck, then hit the glowing dark-energy spot on his chest with a Light Arrow. When Ganondorf falls, Link can reach the central platform and attack. As the battle continues, more floor tiles fall away and Ganondorf adds attacks with multiple projectiles and a ground shockwave. The guide recommends staying alert to the shrinking floor and using the Longshot to reach climbable surfaces if Link falls.

After Ganondorf is defeated, Zelda is freed, but the castle begins to collapse. Link and Zelda must escape through the falling structure, fighting Stalfos and ReDead along the way. Outside, the guide moves on to Ganon: in the first phase, Link does not have the Master Sword, so he must target Ganon’s tail with items such as the Megaton Hammer or Fairy Bow, taking advantage of the opening after Ganon’s sword becomes stuck in the ground.
