Overwatch’s midseason patch has added a new teaser to the Midtown map: a business card advertising Hudson Investigations, a private detective agency run by Ellie Hudson and Rigby M-018. The update also includes Stellar Blade skins and balance changes, as well as hints about future additions to the game.
Neither investigator has appeared in the game’s lore over the past decade. While Ellie Hudson’s name suggests she is human, Rigby M-018 is believed to be the Omnic Detective Blizzard has been teasing since the game’s reboot in February 2026.
The character has so far been known mainly by that nickname, inspired by his fedora and trench coat. His artwork also shows him carrying an umbrella, though it is not known whether it is a weapon or simply an accessory.
Blizzard has said Rigby will help introduce Overwatch’s next story arc. How he connects to Vendetta’s rise to power, a storyline that unfolded during 2026, has not been revealed.
