Nintendo has released a four-minute trailer for Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy, an upgraded version of the strategy adventure first released in 2023. The game is set to arrive on November 12, with new content and features alongside graphical improvements for Switch 2.
The main addition is Dandori Academy, a mode with 72 challenges that will be added over time. Players will need to organise and direct their Pikmin efficiently, with tasks including collecting treasure against the clock. Challenges have different difficulty levels, and results earn medals. Special weekend exams and online rankings will let players compare their performance with others.
The Switch 2 edition also lets players give Oatchi voice commands through the console’s built-in microphone. There are nine commands for directing the canine companion during the adventure, as well as an option to praise him.
Nintendo says the game has higher resolution and a sharper image in both TV and handheld modes, reaching up to 4K when played on a television. Dandori Battles will support GameShare, allowing another player to join without owning the game, either locally or through GameChat.
A free demo is available on the Nintendo eShop. It includes the adventure’s first area and two Dandori Academy challenges, and progress can be carried over to the full game. Players who already own the Nintendo Switch version can buy an upgrade pack.
