Filming for Pluribus season 2 has reportedly begun in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Apple has not announced the start of production, but Forbes reported on November 2 that the series was shooting there. An earlier Production List report said filming was scheduled to begin on October 31, while a post shared by SciFi Spiral’s Ava Harper that day showed a picture from the set and said the shoot was planned to last 225 days.
If that schedule is accurate, and post-production takes additional time, the new season may not arrive before the second half of 2028. That would put its release close to three years after season 1 ended in December 2025.
Created by Vince Gilligan, Pluribus stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, an author living in Albuquerque who is among just 13 people immune to an extraterrestrial virus. The infection has transformed the rest of humanity into a collective called the Others.
Seehorn said in January 2026 that the team was back in the writers’ room. Gilligan later told Polygon that he was working on the season and promised more excitement and twists. Apple ordered two seasons from the outset, though Gilligan and his team began work on season 2 after the first season finale aired.
