RAW Power Games has announced that it has lost the funding needed to run the studio, putting both the independent developer and its upcoming game, Chronicles: Medieval, at risk. The team is asking interested players to help raise the game’s profile by adding it to their Steam Wishlists and continuing to talk about it.

In a statement posted last week, the studio said its necessary funding was no longer in place. Raw Power said it was not “going down without a fight,” and indicated that it was speaking with potential new investors. Chronicles: Medieval, its debut title, is still in development and was described as close to its planned Early Access launch.

The game is a historical strategy title that combines large-scale battles with an RPG-style strategy layer. Players create a character and seek to rise through the social hierarchy of 14th-century England. Raw Power Games includes developers who have worked on The Witcher 3, Total War: Three Kingdoms and Crusader Kings III, among other games.

The effect of the studio’s appeal remains uncertain. In the days after its statement, Raw Power had not made further announcements. Chronicles: Medieval was not listed among Steam’s Top Wishlisted games, while SteamDB ranked it 26th in its wishlist rankings, unchanged from before the funding news. The game’s Steam follower count had risen by more than 1,000 week on week, though the report noted that the increase’s impact on the studio’s prospects was unclear.
